Ferro silicon Description
Ferrosilicon 72% is a gray ferro alloy product. It is a ferro alloy composed by 72% silicon and about 27% Fe. In addition, it contains small amounts of aluminum, calcium, titanium and carbon.Ferro Silicon is using coke, steel chips and quartz (or silica) as raw materials, after high temperature reduction of 1500-1800 degrees, silicon melts in molten iron to form ferro silicon alloy.
Ferro Silicon Application:
Ferrosilicon or silicon alloys is used for the production of low-carbon reductant in ferroalloy industry. Adding ferrosilicon to cast iron can be inoculant for ductile iron, and can prevent the formation of carbides, and promote the precipitation of graphite and the nodulizing, so as to improve performance of cast cast iron .
